about me

My name is Julia Kowalczyk ( Kovalczyq )

I am an artist from Poland working at the intersection of painting, illustration, sculpture, animation, film and mixed media techniques.

My work is based on experimentation and crossing the boundaries between media - I am interested in the process, intuition and meaning hidden in seemingly ordinary observations.

I am open to collaborations, new projects, exhibitions, and artist residencies. I am interested in activities that combine art.

with experience, emotion and a careful look at reality.

inspiration

I draw inspiration from the world around me, people, and everyday situations, listening to conversations and analyzing small details that often escape attention. I treat art as a tool for exploring the world and myself, asking questions, and building a personal narrative open to the viewer's interpretation.

education

I studied illustration at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam,

and currently I am studying graphic design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow.

experience

I have participated in experimental projects, exhibitions, and freelance collaborations, as well as organizing and curating exhibitions.
